My Front Steps Project

Hi there,

I've taking part in The Front Steps Project in support of Nourish Pierce County. Want to make a donation? I'm doing this as a way to give back to my city of Tacoma, Washington. These "pandemic social distancing stay home stay safe" times are difficult for me, as I'm sure it is for all of you. To try and give back, and bring a little joy to my neighborhood, I am volunteering my talents to produce a professional portrait in exchange for a donation to one of my favorite charities, Nourish Pierce County.

Here's how it works:

I am looking for folks who would like a Front Porch Portrait within 1 1/2  miles of Stadium Thriftway (I live near there).  I am going to start slow, and schedule just a couple sessions a night sometime between 5 and 7 or so. Contact me through my website form, (be sure to include your name, address, and cell phone #), and I'll get back in touch with a date and time. Once you confirm back to me, we'll have an appointment!

I'll walk to your home. When I am about five minutes away, I'll text you. Then, you can step outside, where I'll be standing near your driveway or street, waiting for you. I will take a couple quick shots, and that's it. It should take less than 10 minutes. I will physically interact with no one, touch nothing, and stay at least 10 ten feet away during these sessions. This, of course, doesn't mean we won't have fun. We can smile, laugh, interact -- we'll just stay a safe distance away :)

Dress code? BE YOU! This is not a typical get-dressed-up-and-pose-for-the-photographer session. Of course, you can dress up. But, want to stand outside in your pajamas and slippers? Sounds good to me! Kids in mismatched clothes but you're thrilled they got dressed? Fantastic. Wearing your bike gear because you're headed off to ride to Point Defiance? Love it! You do you!

After your session, I will email you the digital file of your portrait.  In exchange, I ask you to make a good faith donation to Nourish Pierce County through this GoFundMe Campaign

Please be aware that I will be posting these images on my website, Facebook, and Instagram.

The Front Steps Project, also known as #TheFrontStepsProject, was created on March 17, 2020 as a fundraiser for the Needham Community Council in Needham, Massachusetts. The organizers, Cara Soulia, Caitrin Dunphy, Topher Cox and Kristen Collins, wanted to find a way to unite and give back to their community during these uncertain times. The organizers were surprised and thrilled the idea spread and that individuals and groups from hundreds of other towns in the U.S., Canada and throughout the world replicated #TheFrontStepsProject in their own communities.  More information about The Front Steps Project can be found on the website at https://www.thefrontstepsproject.com/
