Mountaineers Gallery Show Awards

I've had four metal prints hanging in the Tahoma Gallery since May as part of a 40 print photo show with the Tacoma Mountaineers photo group. Judging was just announced, and I had two images win awards in the Human Influence category!

First Place: Stadium High School
"Long exposure, combined with distinct photographic and processing techniques, brings a new interpretation of a classic Tacoma scene. Enough of the foreground stadium is included to bring balance to the drama of the school and sky. Light-toned vegetation provides nice framing in the foreground. There is great detail in the school, which helps observers discover more within the image. The vignette helps bring viewers attention into the school."

Honorable Mention: Historic Heidelberg
"The dramatic use of long exposure black and white imagery accentuates the industrial feel of the image. The bright tank in the foreground is accentuated by a dramatic vignette. Lighter tones on the side of the building help draw the viewer through the image."
